Since there are so many contests out there, I'll dedicate one page to just them. They will be separated into Free and $Fee$. I'll try and keep the deadline dates cronological, but no guarantees. If you're too late for this year's, keep it in mind for next. Also, the dates may fluctuate from year to year and I don't plan to return and update the entry dates with each new year.
Free Contests
For unpublished, completed novels. 2009 is closed. Look for it early 2010. Had an entry window of 6 days.
$Fee$ Contests
Titles copyrighted 2008 or 2009, or that were released in 2008 or early 2009 may be entered. National category entry fee is $85; Regional category can be added for $45; Outstanding Books of the Year consideration at no extra charge. Final deadline is March 21, 2009; enter online or postmark entries by that date.

ForeWord Magazine's Book of the Year Awards were established to bring increased attention to librarians and booksellers of the literary and graphic achievements of independent publishers and their authors. ForeWord is the only review trade journal devoted exclusively to books from independent houses.
