Q: Who is Morcyth?
A: Morcyth is a god whose followers were hunted down and exterminated many centuries prior to the time in which James enters the world. He is a god of learning, a god of good.

Q: Why was James brought to the world?
A: Some things are best left unanswered.

Q: How does magic work?
A: To Make magic work takes three things. 1. A focused and disciplined mind. 2. You must understand how to bring about what you wish to achieve. You can't make lightning strike just anywhere, you need to understand about polarities and how lightning goes from one to the other. 3. A belief that you can do it.

Q: How is James able to so readily perform magic?
A: For years, James has played role playing games and constructed worlds and dungeon campaigns for himself and his friends to play in. During these years of play, he's devised many new spells for his mages to use. Also, one of the prerequisites for a spell to work is to understand the underlying principles of what you want to accomplish. Having grown up in a technologically advanced society has given him a broader understanding of physics, nature, chemistry, etc. All of which enable him to devise and use potent spells.

Q: Is an eBook right for me?
A: That depends entirely on whether you use certain types of electronics a lot, like laptops. If you always have them with you, and use them often, then the savings of buying the eBook would be the right decision. But if you prefer to have the book to actually be in your hand, then I'd advise against it.

Q: Why are your books only offered online?
A: Since I am an unknown author and don't have the backing of a traditional publishing house, many stores are hesitant about stocking their shelves with books that have no, or very little sales history. Only way to change that is to go to your local bookseller and ask them to stock it. After time has passed and I have shown myself, then they will I'm sure. How much time, I don't know.

Q: Why doesn't James use healing spells?
A: He doesn't have the belief that he knows enough about it to adequately make it happen. Remember, one of the fundamental principles of magic in this world is a belief you can do it.

Q: I have trouble downloading your Adobe e-books.
A: The new Windows Vista has issues with Adobe ebooks. Try installing Adobe Digital, some have said it is compatible.
*******************************************************************************************************************************
Q: Why are the covers different for the Mobipocket downloads than the paperbacks?
A: iUniverse owns the rights to the Paperback covers and Adobe eBook covers. In order to have them available for Mobipocket, I had to create a different set. Rest assured, the story is the same.
*******************************************************************************************************************************
Q: Why are paperbacks so much more than either eBooks or Amazon Kindle?
A: My publisher iUniverse sets the price for the paperbacks while I set the price for Mobipocket and Amazon Kindle. Believe me, if I could bring down the price of the paperbacks, I would.
--Added Sept 2008: My books are now published through a company called CreateSpace. They allow me to set the price which is now $18.95 across the board. Also, through their eStore I've been able to assign a discount code for my readers which they can use to save an additional 25%, bringing the price down to $14.21. Q: What is Smashwords?
A: Have made all books available at a new site called Smashwords (eBooks only). For customers, it should be welcomed as when you buy an eBook, you are then able to download it in any of the following eBook formats: epub; Sony Reader (LRF); Palm Doc (PDB) ;PDF; RTF; Plain Text; Kindle (Mobi). Have a Kindle, iPhone, Blackberry or PC? Download it to one or all with but one purchase. This includes Amazon Kindle without the DRM protection. And, should other formats become popular, they will convert my books retroactively, and you will then be able to download them. Pretty cool, huh? I understand those with the Stanza network will now be able to access my titles.

Smashwords also allows the customer to pay with PayPal.

I plan to remove all links to Amazon Kindle and Mobipocket from this site and just have a single one to Smashwords. I will continue publishing future titles on Mobipocket and Kindle, but for customer convenience and streamlining of this site, will have but the one link available.

Another aspect of Smashwords that customers should enjoy is that many of the titles are free or "Pay what you want." For the latter, you can either have it free, or pay a price you are comfortable with (We starving authors sure appreciate it :)). For my titles, they will be priced same as the other eBook retail sites. But, look for upcoming specials. You never know.

Here's the link to Smashwords so you can check it out.

Q: Why are there different prices for paperbacks?
A: Paperbacks are being published by two separate publishers. Those costing the flat $18.95 are published through a company called CreateSpace. The higher priced books are published through iUniverse. CreateSpace's books are only offered at Amazon.com. The iUniverse copies are available worldwide and are priced anywhee from $18.95 to $25.95. I am working to correct this. When I have enough funds available, I shall pull my books from iUniverse and publish them through LSI, a company that will distribute them internationally at a price of $18.95 each. Readers outside the US might wish to take advantage of eBook prices which are more consistent and economical at $4.95-$6.95. Read the above FAQ to learn about Smashwords and the flexibility in eBook formats they have made available.
