Emails From Readers
Hi,
I got your 1st book the day before yesterday and I am almost finished.
(Considering that I have a test tomorrow, that is fast ;-))
I just went online to buy the 2nd one and thought to leave you a note: The magic system is great. I simply love it. No overpowering mages who can do what they want (major drawback in Harry Potter), but some well thought off rules. (And thankfully no D&D system where you have to prepare... and somehow the hero always has the right spells)
But please, work on the secret doors! The 1st one, from the sewers to the lord's house, was OK. Three buttons and if you don't know you won't find it. But the 2nd one, pushing on circle, then two, then three... Thats no "secret" door, but something rich people buy to impress their friends.
Oh, and perhaps you should add some more descriptions of the environment. The action is so closely packed, that I caught myself last night for two hours thinking "Just one more page, just one more page..."
With something to get me off the action I might be able to put the book away more often. ;-)
So thank you for the great story, and thank you for writing so fast.
Yours,
Bjorn Ostermann (Germany)
Hi Brian,
Congratulations on writing a brilliant book.I cannot understand how you can't get a publishing deal in America, they should have snapped your hand off.
I have been reading fantasy books for many, many years authors such as Raymond E.Feist,
David Eddings etc. and I would place your book up high with the best of them.
I love books that are fast paced with distinctive characters and key people that are real. Well done your James and Miko are without a doubt realistic.
I hope your next book will be available soon.
Regards
John Pritchard

Mr. Pratt,
I just wanted to send you a short note to thank you for publishing your book in EBook format.
Currently I am in Iraq at the moment and am finding it a bit difficult to lug around a library of books, which is very unfortunate for me since I am such an avid reader. I can't quite justify dumping my body armor to make room for a Harry Potter book, Book 6 to be exact... Anyways to remedy this I have been downloading EBooks from Amazon. I had a copy of The Hobbit floating around and decided since all I have is time I might as well read that. Well after I was done I plowed into the Fellowship of the Ring. I am not one to give up a book after just a third of it, but Tolkien bored me into abandoning his quest. I can only take so much of a few hobbits wandering the woods, I suppose it is a good thing that I was never entrusted in the quest to destroy the ring of power. Surely the Middle Earth would have come to an end shortly after I left the shire and became so bored I accidentally impaled my self while playing with something sharp.
After the draining experience I had just felt I went in search of some "light" reading. What I found was the "Unsuspecting Mage" in EBook format on Amazon. I read the reviews from some of your other fans and decided the "Unsuspecting Mage" was just what I needed. I found your writing style very refreshing and the flow of events great. I blew through that book in a few days and was very surprised to find there was indeed a second book. Unfortunately Amazon let me down with their lack of a EBook format, but one helpful reviewer said the EBook was available on your website for
purchase. My renewed enthusiasm was quickly struck down by our internet filtering software...apparently MorcythSaga.com is pornographic by US Army standards. However thanks to my burning desire to finish read the second book I turned to the great knower of all things to be known, Google. After a short stint with Google I was lead to iUniverse where the second book was ready to be plucked from the great electron void.
I must say the second book was my favorite of the two so far. It kept me on the edge of my seat and to be honest was quite an exhilarating read. Every trying event in the book I was sure that everyone was as good as dead. Of course to have the entire cast killed off on page 100 would make no sense, but that did nothing to dampen the suspense.
After finishing book 2 I moved on to some other books, but I can only handle books describing the scent of a Vampire and some odd erotica too long before I started to consider re-reading the second Morcyth book. I figured I would poke around and see if there was any news to when a third book was to be published. To my great surprise it already had on March 1st. I was pretty skeptical as to what date the EBook would be out there, but pressed on nonetheless. Of course
Amazon was of no help, but the same friendly piece of advice, check the MorcythSaga.com site, was available. I figured what the hell and directed my browser to it. The second and more exhilarating surprise of the day then came, the page loaded. Before the dark overlords of the internet found me out I quickly followed the link to iUniverse and purchased book three.
Before I started reading however I wanted to write to you and let you know how much I appreciate your books and the fact that you published them in an EBook format. With out the EBooks I would have never stumbled upon your books. Once I return stateside I intend to continue the saga even though I will have access to paperbacks once again. JK Rowling will just have to wait until I have some free time and am not reading your books.

The Morcyth Saga
Page One
Dear Mr. Pratt,
My name is Sharif Hassan and I am 15 years old. I live up in the Poconos of Pennsylvania, in a city called Dingman's Ferry. A couple hours ago, I just finished reading THE UNSUSPECTING MAGE, book one of The Morcyth Saga. I thought it was PHENOMINAL!! I love reading, and ever since 6, I have always liked to read for pleasure. I have read probably a few hundred books including Map of Bones, The DaVinci code, and Angels and Demons by Dan Brown the Harry Potter series, the Chronicles of Narnia series, the Artemis Fowl series, the Bobby Penndragon series, almost all of Bryan Jacques Redwall books, The Kingdom of the Elves of the Reaches series, The Last Vampire series, A series of Unfortunate Events series, the Vampire Huntress series, Eragon and Eldest by Paolini, and the Teeth of the Tiger by Clancy. These are just of the few of many books that I've read throughout the years. You are the first author that I have ever wrote to about he/she's books. I am very excited and honored to be writing to you, being my first book review. This was the first book that I have read by you, and I plan to continue reading the rest of the saga. You probably get this alot, but I can assure that I am not your average, crazy fan. It's hard for me to find the right book these days, because of the type I like. But when I do find the one that sparks the magic in me, I have a hard time putting it down, and often get in trouble at home and in school for doing so;like your book for instance. I just could NOT put it down because it was that good. I don't mean to write a book to you, but I'm just excited and wanted to show my appreciation to you. You were the first to inspire me to write an email to one of the authors that write just FANTASTICALLY, PHENOMINAL books, and so I thank you for that. Good luck writing and I hope to inspire you as you have inspired me. I would GREATLY, GREATLY appreciate it if you would write back to me.
Sincerely your biggest fan,
Sharif Hassan
